how do i explain that even though an automobile ingests fuel, oxides fuel to releases energy and excretes exhaust gases, that it is a non living thing?

    Because it can’t reproduce! A living thing needs to be able to breath, eat and reproduce. patointhehouse

    Something is classified as alive if it can move independently, metabolize fuel, and repoduce on its own.

    An automobile does not move independently, nor can it reproduce itself, so you can’t classify it as living. vangorn2000
