danielle asked:

My car is a 2000 mazda protege, and whenever i turn on the air conditioning, it makes a screeching sound. The sound goes away when i press the gas and accelerate. It has been doing this for a little over a year, and consequently i dont turn on the air that often.

Thanks for the help!

Loose belt, oil on the belt, compressor cluch going bad, or the compressor, also high pressure in the system can also cause this problem.
