The ranking number can go up depending on things such as how much that make/model is stolen or broken into and how safe they are if a wreck were to occur. your zip code also has a lot to do with the ranking. Also the newer your car is the more expensive the insurance will be. I don't know that there is a specific manufacturer who is cheaper than the other. I think it comes down to model more than make.
