A degree is the most sensible as most employers these days will not touch you unless you have a degree. Now which degree is down to you, which ever interests you the most. I did an Electrical and Electronic degree and worked in the Automobile industry for a few years. All cars are highly fitted out with lots of electronics requiring hardware design and software design. These are two different fields that may be followed by someone with an Electronics degree. I’m not so sure about Mechanical degrees, but they are also needed within the Automobile sector. I think there is more scope with an Electronics degree, but it’s down to you, you have to be interested in what you do. Philip
