It works by running odd gears on one clutch and even gears on the other. It was used in the VW R32, VW Passat/Eos, several Audis such as TT and the A3. It's basically a 'sporty' automated transmission that technically isn't an automatic, and it works very vell for fast shifts and accurate downshift timing.
