it's not enough money

cars in that price range will not be in "good condition" and will need repairs

if you had $3,000 to $4k you'd be able to find a 1998 Honda or Toyota that would meet your requirements.

In your price range, what you are asking for is darn near impossible to predict. You are not remotely guaranteed to get a quality vehicle. Too many factors come into play that make a car go for only 2K. You will likely only find a very old, high mileage american car in that price range. It will not be reliable, though of course you could get lucky. Search carefully, and do your homework. Any vehicle you decide on, have it first inspected by an independent, certified mechanic for mechanical issues, as well as evidence of accidents. It's worth the 40 dollar investment. Good luck.

any 4 cyl is good, subaru, Nissan, Toyota sedans (not suv's or trucks) 10 years old or less. mileage should be not over 15000 a year at MOST. look on craigslist, and look at free and barter too. if you're willing to do a little work, you could get a REALLY great deal. and if you know how to do all the maintenance and minor mechanical work, it will save you an untold amount. (and it's fun).
