What is the fastest production car in the world?

I have heard that the Bugatti Veyron is the fastest production car in the world, but then i have read a couple and it has different cars. So, I really don’t know what the fastest production car in the world is.

that would be the SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness world records, The SSC Ultimate Aero takes the lead as the fastest car in the world beating Bugatti Veyron. michael c

the aero is currently the fastest…but i expect to last for a very short time as someone out there will just twin turbo a 16 cylinder engine….i’ve seen Nissan Skylines,Toyota Supras that are faster than the bugatti and aero but they have extensive mods done to the engines. Fam0us..G0T INK?

Well it depends on what you mean by fastest. Fastest in the quarter mile? 0-60mph? top speed?
Fastest Top Speed: SSC Ultimate Aero (257.11 mph)
Fastest 0-60mph: Bugatti Veyron (2.5sec)
Fastest Quarter Mile: SSC Ultimate Aero (9.9sec)

a person a few notches up mentioned that someone would build a faster car with a twin turbo v16….
the bugatti veyron has a quad turbo 16 cylinder engine… and is still not the fastest… so bust Mark
