What is the deceleration of a car on a flat street if the driver brakes sharply?
Fggfg asked:
Suppose that the coefficient of kinetic friction of the rubber of a car tire and the street is = 0.8 k μ . What is the deceleration of a car on a flat street if the driver brakes sharply, so all the wheels are locked and skidding?

Friction Force = u (0.8) * Normal (m*g)
Acceleration of car = Friction Force/mass
substitution: a=u*m*g/m
a= u *g= 0.8*9.81=7.848 m/s^2 (ans) Nick
