What are good car trouble excuses to miss work?
jane_#3 asked:
My car overheated early this morning and I told my boss that i had to call triple AAA. What else can I add so I don’t have to go in to work today?

it had to be towed and you have to go with it and make arrangements - then you have to wait for someone to pick you up and your ride did not show.

Tell your boss that not only did your car overheat but you locked your keys in the car and now you can’t even get in your house

I have employees and their car troubles aren’t really my concern. That’s why having a reliable mode of transportation is a job requirement. If I had an employee call in with car trouble I would expect them to take care of it as quickly as possible and either hitch a ride with friends or family or take a taxi to get here. I have a business to run and people’s excuses are unnecessary because I don’t care about the reason for the most part. If it isn’t an emergency meaning fire or injury then I don’t want to hear it. I’m here to take care of business and if my employees aren’t on board then I need new employees. Best of luck being a useless and unreliable liar.

Car trouble is not an excuse for missing a day of work. Take the bus.

Perhaps you should add that the dog ate your muffler?
Seriously, if you want an unscheduled day off and can’t bring yourself to be up front with your boss, you should come up with your own excuses. After that, maybe you should look for a job that you’re more interested in.

NOT to miss work. Late maybe.
Take a taxi or bus but get there.

Tell him that you not only had to wait forever for the tow truck to come but that when he did he could not get the crane to work and had to wait for another truck to come to get the car towed. It just might be my luck but it has happened to me before. hope it works

Grow up. You have a responsibility to your employer to show up for work.

You can’t add anything you should be at work. If I was your boss and you tried that excuse I would say you better be here within an hour. And if you weren’t there then you can take a week off for not being at work. You would have plenty of time not to have to go to work. Good Luck being a lousy employee.
