nobody asked:

In Montana military are exempt, period. We don’t pay taxes on car registration, it costs less than 10 dollars to register you car. I just got out of the military but my husband is still in. We want to know what we need to show our bring since the phones are not being answered down there and it is a long drive to just ask a question. He is not on my title, do I need to put him on my title? Can two people be on a title?

How does the mechanics lien on my car affects me?

Brigit asked:

I had my car painted at Maaco. They did a horrible job: there’s sand in a paint, white dots all over a car, and they also paited over rubber moldings!!! Those moldings are worth almost $500. They took 3 more days than promised to finish the job, emptied the gas tank running the car (apparently they needed the radio, because all the stations were changed). My husband picked up the car, didn’t pay anything because they said they’ll sand the car over. After we realized that they painted over moldings, we wanted a discount for it. They wanted to paint everything again, but the manager said they wouldn’t put the original moldings on a car because they’re too expensive (the car dealership gave us an estimate on all those moldings). There’s no way we’ll leave our car with them again (did I meantion they stole all the change from the glove compartment?). Now the manager call us and leaves the message that he’ll place a mechanics lien on a car. Can he do it? How it will affect us? Thanks!
