I am looking to purchase a new car for under $30,000 and want to comfortably seat 5. I have looked at many cars and find the middle area of the rear seat to be horribly uncomfortable. I don’t want a minivan. Any suggestions?

i am paying a settalmant figure of £3,300 for higher purchase on my car, they will not put it in writing but will give me a reciept to say that the amount recieved is a full and final setalmant and my car will be mine. but im worried about doing this… as the original setalmant figure they requested was £4,900 and i can only afford £3,3000, could they pursue me for the rest or take my car?
or should this all be fine with the reciept?

I refuse to purchase a new car with the way our economy is right now. I am looking at some 2year old vehicles with less than 30k miles. I don’t want a car over 30k miles, but mileage should play an important factor in the decision making process. How do you feel about mileage on used cars?

How to purchase a car from a person who owes on the loan?

Emma asked:

We want to buy a car from someone who owes $5,000 on the loan. We don’t have the cash, so we would also need to finance it. How would we go about this? Would we go through the other guy’s bank? Or would we try to get a loan from our bank? If we do that, how does the process of getting the $ from our bank to his work? And the title?

And what safety precautions should we take? That’s my biggest concern.

I live with my wife and children in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been supporting my family in Liberia since my graduation from college. How can I purchase a car for my father in Liberia safely without being scammed out of my money because he does not speak english. I can not afford to travel there at this time. Would it be safer to ship a vehicle there than it would be to send the money and have a stranger that I do not know assist my father in purchasing a car from someone in a neighboring country?

Is there a difference in a car with 80000 miles or 111000 miles?

I am planning to purchase a used car. I am not sure if there is a huge difference between a car with 80000 miles on it or the one with 100,000. Does 20000 miles really challenge the engine mechanically? Another question is how well the cars drive after 100K? Take the example of Acura of Infiniti. Can you keep them easily till 200K if you keep doing the regular oil change?
Quick answers will be appreciated!

When you purchase a car in Tennessee from a dealership they collect a business and metro/county tax in addition to state taxes and if you purchase a car from an individual and pay taxes yourself the county only collects the state tax? Is this profit to the dealership?

Chuya asked:

I know someone who “says” they purchased a car and their check bounced so the finance company repoed the car without calling them to warn them about taking the car back. They say it was the banks fault about the check having bounced.

I don’t think the bank would have taken the car back, I think they would have given them a chance to replace the check with cash.

I think this person is lying what do you think?
