Kaytee asked: My car battery is fully charged, but not charging anymore (faulty alternator - long story). In two days I am driving it to the mechanic to fix the alternator. I wanna know whether I can use the car meanwhile without risking to drain the battery?

I’m replacing my burned-out engine with one from my sister’s car (which has too much other damage to be of any use, except for the engine). The mechanic’s estimate on the labor hours seemed high to me. Basically, I need them to take the engine out of my car, take the engine out of my sisters car, and put her engine into my car. Nothing else.

My 97 honda 4 cylinder automatic accord does this on the interstate at around 70-80 miles per hour but drives strait when the speed is steady. The car can be steered with the accelerator its that noticeable. I thought it might be alignment but it is within specifications. The car has 170,000 miles but the struts have been replaced and are fine, along with new cv shafts. The tie rods exhibit no play. Possible causes from what i have researched is worn suspension bushings, dragging brakes, bad differential, bad tie rods, or torque steer. Car seems exhibit this characteristic worse in freezing temperatures for some reason and is noticeable at take off. I took it by a shop when i had the egr valve replaced and mentioned it but the mechanic refused to look at it since my car has been lowered even though i have used camber kits and it was years ago i lowered it. Can anyone help me narrow it down or give me other possible culprits?

My car, which had been stolen 5 months ago was found. The thieves had removed the muffler and the battery. I do not understand why they took the time and trouble to cut the big cable wires. Can someone please explain why?
SThank youfor your answers. What does ***oles mean? Please explain. I am not in the states and am not up on the lastest jargon. Thank you
A mechanic told me the muffler was stolen. He showed me that you can look straight through the top of the open hood area to see that it was diacconnected.

I am looking to buy an older model car and I am wondering which older cars (mid 80’s - 90’s models), do mechanics prefer to work on? My mechanic told us a while back that he hated working on Ford Contours, which made me wonder if some cars are easier to do work to than others.
