Why does my car idle roughly for the first thirty seconds to a minute after start up?

I have a 99 Grand Am. I recently had the head gasket replaced. After getting my car back from the shop it has sporadically, idled roughly after start up. Mostly on cold start ups. I thought it sounded like the timing except for the fact that it always smooths out after about a minute. If anyone know the answer to this I would be very thankful.

My car just stop on me. When I tried to crank it back up it sounded like the motor was rumbling. I just got full service on my car about 4 month ago and I’m suprised they didn’t tell me it was looking bad. I just got this car a year ago it’s a 99 pontiac grand am. Do anyone have an idea about this?

I have a 1996 Grand Am SE, whenever I go to start the car up, there is like a rattling noise under the hood, it sounds kind of like something is trying to start up..I have no idea what it could be. Any ideas on what could be wrong? The noise only lasts a couple seconds, once the car is started up, it runs perfectly fine.
