Automobile car gasoline engine, for industrial works?

We want to use an automobile gasoline engine for industrial works (industrial sweeping vehicles ). Usually industrial diesel engines are used for this purpose. While these diesel engines produce less power, they can work at nearly maximum speed (and therefore maximum power) for long time. But because of some considerations, we want to use an automobile gasoline engine, which can produce more power, but of course it can not work at maximum power speed for long time. So we have to design an electronic motor driver to control RPM of the motor to produce maximum power during a period of time to prevent damaging to the motor and also overheating.
So can you help me find the appropriate optimum diagram (RPM vs. Time in a period, for example in 100,000 revolution) to get maximum power without any damage. By the way, KIA motor which is used in ‘pride’ with 1323cc and 61HP is our choice.
