bari asked: My car was broken into and the insurance company wants me to drive the car while the thief’s blood is still in it. The areas are being replaced - inner door, glove compartment hood, leather seat - The parts take 3 weeks to get in and they wont pay for my rental car (I DO have rental insurance with them.) while the car is just sitting there waiting for the parts to come in.

isabel asked: I was involved i car accident with the other driver taking the blame. My car is damaged and the other drivers insurance company will be contacting me regarding my car. What should I ask them? I am planning to ask about a hire car, who will repair my car or declare it a write off, can I claim for travel expenses whilst without my car and also is it okay to continu driving my damaged car before it is assessed by them. Is there anything else I should ask?

Colin C asked:
I have a car that I just don’t need anymore after owning it just under a year. I have a 5 year term, and the way I figure it I will just be breaking even. I will owe about 24,000 still in a couple of months and the car is worth about that on blue book and other sites. I don’t care about making money on it, but I also don’t want to get killed. I know it’s easier to sell something to a dealership, but I’ve only done that with a trade on. Should I sell it on my own? I don’t know how to go about doing that. Plus how does it work with the money I still owe on the car? Would someone or the dealership assume payments? I know how that works with the dealership but how would it work if I sold it to a random person? Sorry about the rambling, I’m just in dire need of some help. Thanks!

I’m planning to buy WagonR on monthly EMI scheme. I heard that we are not getting any tax rebates on buying cars and also one can save on taxes when we purchase as company car. How is that. Please explain in detail.Thanks.

Jay asked:
I have worked at a car dealership before but this was never a perk. I applied for a sales consultant position and one of the perks was a car allowance. This isn’t the same as a “company car” perk is it?

Chuya asked: I know someone who “says” they purchased a car and their check bounced so the finance company repoed the car without calling them to warn them about taking the car back. They say it was the banks fault about the check having bounced.
I don’t think the bank would have taken the car back, I think they would have given them a chance to replace the check with cash.
I think this person is lying what do you think?

curioso asked: I have a 1993 Nissan NX which was in a decent condition and never gave me any problems. Recently it got rear-ended. The other party’s insurance took the responsibility and asked me to get an estimate. The estimate says the repair costs are about $5000 and the mechanic thinks the insurance company will buy the car from me. What price would they pay me for the car?
I am a student and wasn’t planning on buying a new car. What price should I be happy with. I paid about $2800 8 months ago for the car. Would they be willing to negotiate. If yes, how do I negotiate?
