The engine looks fine to me but the car won’t start and the key won’t come out. Any ideas?

My car won’t start, the lights and horn work, but the starter (I think) just makes a clicking sound?

I drive a 92 protege. I was giving a standard driving lesson, when, after a stall, the car wouldn’t start again. The battery was not holding a full charge, so I replaced it and the posts. I now get a much louder clicking sound, but the car still won’t start. I have successfully push-started the car, and checked the fuses. The car is old, but was running fine before the lesson, and gave no indication of trouble to come. Is the starter the only possibility, or does anyone know of another possible explanation?

If my brakes are sticking will the car not start?

My car won’t start. The brake pedal is stiff. If the brakes are stuck, will that keep my car from starting?

If the brakes are stuck, can I unstick them?

How would my car sound or do if the chip in the key is broken?

We’ve tried all sorts of things to get the car to run, it wants to start and everything is in good condition, but the car won’t start. We are down to the fuel pump or the chip in the key being broken. The gauges don’t even budge either and I know I have gas in the car and an excellent battery and nothing flickers when I try to start the car, But the two lights that show up are the key light symbol and the fuel symbol. Its a 2000 Jeep Grand Cheeroke Limited.
