Who is responsible for damages in a car accident if the person driving the car is not on the insurance of the car? Also, if they are listed as a “dependent” of someone else, does the person they are the dependent of become financially responsible?
Does the owner of the car become financially responsible or the person the child is dependent of?

First automobile accident. How much will my payments increase?

I’m 25 and have just been in my first automobile accident in which I was at fault. I hit the side of another vehicle. My car is only damaged slightly on the front bumper, while the other car’s passenger side is quite dented. No one was hurt in the accident and I didn’t receive a ticket. Both of us were able to drive away from the scene. I do have automobile insurance which should cover any damages to the other car, but I am concerned that this will cause my insurance payment to increase. Thoughts?
I just bought my (used) car in September. I was out of the country for 2 years, so I wasn’t driving at that time. I’ve had this insurance since September and the price has been very reasonable thus far.
My insurance covers the other person and I have a $500 deductible on the damage to my car.I don’t expect the damage to my car to cost $500 since it’s very minimal. The other car got the worst of it!
