How to prevent car scratches caused by winter cord plug?
Sisiv asked:
In winter, I have to take the cord plug out and let it hang besides the front lights. During driving, the plug wavers and scratches the front cover.
I guess I have to send my car to remove the scratches. But how can I prevent it happen next time?

Tuck it away under the hood/bonnet. Away from the fan, for obvious reasons. Or if it won’t reach, wrap it in tape. Bardic

I tuck mine back into the grill, just kinda force the end itself it in there and it stays.
If you have to leave it dangling, you could try some painters tape over that part of the bumper/fender. Yeah, it won’t be pretty, but it beats scratches. Richard R

The part before the plug (where the screws went to attach the plug) can be sealed up with black electrical tape. Just wrap it around and around a bunch to cover the metal bits.
The actual plug part might still be able to hang free if not too much of the cord is hanging from the hood, like on my car, where the cord wobbles but the prongs can’t touch the car itself. But if they do, perhaps there’s a little plug-cover dealie you can get somewhere. Dopey Dinosaur

use a nylon tie to attach it to the grill loosely if you want to re-use it or tighten it if you don’t mind cutting it each time, you can also get elasticated ties with hooks on the end Harley Drive
