How much mileage would you purchase a car with?

car

I refuse to purchase a new car with the way our economy is right now. I am looking at some 2year old vehicles with less than 30k miles. I don’t want a car over 30k miles, but mileage should play an important factor in the decision making process. How do you feel about mileage on used cars?

Personally, I’m very comfortable buying any car under 100k miles. It depends on my budget and the condition of the car. I do all my maintenance myself. vrrJT3

If the car has under 100K miles, it will be okay. Cars will always need to be tuned and fixed no matter what the mileage is. Something will always go out eventually. However I try to avoid buying cars with over 145K miles. Unless is going to be a “project” car. Ricky Lee

I have almost always bought cars that are over 100K miles. For me, the manufacturer, model, and condition of the car has more to do with it, especially since you can save a lot by buying an older high-mileage car.

If you don’t feel comfortable working on your car, are not mechanically inclined, and don’t know much about engines, you might be better off going with something with lower miles. However, just because it has low miles, doesn’t mean it will be worry free. Jacob
