    assuming that the cars are not accelerating…
    you take the relative velocity, which would be the difference in velocities.

    68.9-42.2=26.7km/hr = 7.41666667 m / s
    v*t=d
    t=d/v = 57/7.41666 = 7.685sec Chris B
