Most banks & credit unions sell their repos at dealer only auctions.

Some of the smaller ones try to "retail" them first but they usually are not reasonable on the price untill it gets to auction.

There are lots of resources out there, but this site pools most of them so you can check out not only bank repo cars but police seized ones as well or government surplus autos. GovernmentAuctions.org I used their site last year to track down 2001 Chevy Tahoe. It was in great condition and I only spent about 8K on it.

as the above poster said, most banks send their cars to auction, you might want to try credit unions in your area, good luck

You can contact your local bank to see if they have any inventory. Most banks send their cars directly to dealer auctions so they don't keep them around long.

Public auctions are always high risk for finding a reliable car but you have to give up something to get a great price.

Before I'd go the auction route I'd obsessively search Craigslist for bargains from private sellers.
